MCU allows students to enter degree programs three times each year. All application materials must be submitted prior to the application deadlines to be considered for acceptance. Application and enrollment deadlines for Fall 2024 – Winter 2026 are as follows:

We are unable to accept applications from students residing in the state of Florida (***this does not apply if you are a midwife applying for our MSM program), American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of Palau. We are unable to accept students planning to live internationally outside the US, and are unable to provide student visas for international students.

As of Fall 2024, a new regulation has gone into effect for Title IV distance education schools, meaning schools that disburse federal financial aid and provide education in formats other than face-to-face.  As part of this regulation, we can only enroll students where our program provides a pathway to licensure in the state they are currently living in, or if the student plans to work in a state where our program does lead to licensure. As such we are not able to consider applicants who intend to work as amidwife in one of the states/territories listed below, as our program does not lead to licensure in those states. Our program does not lead to licensure in the following states and territories: Georgia, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, West Virginia, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. If you reside in one of these states or territories, but you do not intend to practice in this state upon graduation, a record of attestation to practice in a state where MCU meets licensure requirements is required at the time of application.Â
A non-refundable application fee is required with your application submission. The application fee is $65 for the undergraduate application and $75 for the graduate application.
While MCU assists students in securing clinical placements, students are ultimately responsible for finding preceptors in their geographic area. We maintain a network of approved clinical sites, but availability varies by location. Students may need to travel or relocate for clinical experiences.
At this time, Midwives College of Utah (MCU) is only able to enroll students who reside in the United States or Canada. As a distance-education institution, MCU cannot issue or support student visas, nor can we approve or oversee clinical placements for students living outside these countries. We encourage all prospective international midwifery students to pursue educational pathways within their own country to ensure appropriate clinical training, regulatory alignment and preparation to practice safely and effectively in the communities they intend to serve.
